**Asymptotic Methods in Quantum Mechanics: Application to Atoms, Molecules and Nuclei free download by Professor S. H. Patil, Professor K. T. Tang (auth.)**

Asymptotic Methods in Quantum Mechanics is a detailed discussion of the general properties of the wave functions of many particle systems. Particular emphasis is placed on their asymptotic behaviour, since the outer region of the wave function is most sen...

**Random Evolutions and Their Applications free download by Anatoly Swishchuk (auth.)**

The main purpose of this handbook is to summarize and to put in order the ideas, methods, results and literature on the theory of random evolutions and their applications to the evolutionary stochastic systems in random media, and also to present some new...

**Fractal geometry: mathematical foundations and applications epub download by Kenneth Falconer**

An accessible introduction to fractals, useful as a text or reference. Part I is concerned with the general theory of fractals and their geometry, covering dimensions and their methods of calculation, plus the local form of fractals and their projections ...

**An Introduction to Noncommutative Differential Geometry and its Physical Applications epub download by J. Madore**

This is an introduction to noncommutative geometry, with special emphasis on those cases where the structure algebra, which defines the geometry, is an algebra of matrices over the complex numbers. Applications to elementary particle physics are also disc...

**Categories and Sheaves pdf free by Kashiwara M., Schapira P.**

Categories and sheaves, which emerged in the middle of the last century as an enrichment for the concepts of sets and functions, appear almost everywhere in mathematics nowadays. This book covers categories, homological algebra and sheaves in a systematic...

**Catalyzing Inquiry at the Interface of Computing And Biology free epub by Committee on Frontiers at the Interface of Computing and Biology, National Research Council, John C. Wooley, Herbert S. Lin**

Advances in computer science and technology and in biology over the last several years have opened up the possibility for computing to help answer fundamental questions in biology and for biology to help with new approaches to computing. Making the most o...

**Catholic Resistance in Elizabethan England epub download by Victor Houliston**

Amongst ecclesiastical historians, there has been increased interest in English Catholicism over the past twenty years as a result of the re-evaluation of religious conflicts in early modern England, especially the role of the Jesuits. Speculation about S...

**Categoricity free download by John T. Baldwin**

Modern model theory began with Morley's categoricity theorem: A countable first-order theory that has a unique (up to isomorphism) model in one uncountable cardinal (i.e., is categorical in cardinality) if and only if the same holds in all uncountable car...

**Catastrophes: Views from Natural and Human Sciences epub download by Andreas Hoppe (eds.)**

Scientific disciplines have their own view on catastrophes. Here, natural scientists, engineers, physicians as well as historians and social scientists define and discuss geo-hazards and associated technical disasters, natural disasters as a business case...

The NATO Advanced Research Workshop "Painleve Transcendents, their Asymp totics and Physical Applications", held at the Alpine Inn in Sainte-Adele, near Montreal, September 2 -7, 1990, brought together a group of experts to discuss the topic and produce this volume. There were 41 participants from 14 countries and 27 lectures were presented, all included in this volume. The speakers presented reviews of topics to which they themselves have made important contributions and also re sults of new original research. The result is a volume which, though multiauthored, has the character of a monograph on a single topic. This is the theory of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, the solutions of which have no movable singularities, other than poles, and the extension of this theory to partial differential equations. For short we shall call such systems "equations with the Painleve property". The search for such equations was a very topical mathematical problem in the 19th century. Early work concentrated on first order differential equations. One of Painleve's important contributions in this field was to develop simple methods applicable to higher order equations. In particular these methods made possible a complete analysis of the equation ;; = f(y',y,x), where f is a rational function of y' and y, with coefficients that are analytic in x. The fundamental result due to Painleve (Acta Math.
